Landscape Painter en Plein Air
Susan Cheatham is a landscape oil painter painting en Plein Air – Outdoors. That is where she get her inspiration, right in front of Mother Nature. Susan spends most of her painting time outdoors painting the light and atmosphere of the day.
Her real studio is where she is painting at the present moment. Her physical gallery and studio is located in downtown New Bern at the CAGS Gallery and Studios in the annex upstairs. She is also co-sponsor of the Emerging Artist Program and Gallery Space.
Cheatham has a Degree in Landscape Architecture from NCSU and was a designer in Raleigh for 20 years. Recently she has been a liaison for Plein Air New Bern since their inception. She has studied with many artists, won awards, and has had gallery representation in 4 different cities. She had her own gallery in Oriental, NC called The Station Gallery.
